郵便物の配達を終了～End mail delivery

 　デンマークとスウェーデンの政府系郵便会社「ポストノルド」は、2025年12月30日
をもってデンマーク国内での手紙など郵便物の配達を終了すると発表しました。
　デンマークでは、郵便物数が1999年の約16億通をピークに減少し続け、2024年には
2億通未満となり、90％以上の減少となっています。この大幅な減少の背景には、デジ
タル化の進展があります。
　多くのコミュニケーションや取引がオンラインで行われるようになり、従来の郵便物
の需要が減少しました。その結果、郵便事業の継続が困難となり、今回の配達終了の
決定に至りました。
　郵便物の配達終了後、行政からの通知などは、デジタル手段や他の民間配送サービス
を通じて行われる可能性があります。
　小包の配達については、ポストノルドは今後もパッケージ配送サービスに注力する予
定であり、引き続き提供される見込みです。
　日本で郵便局が始まったのは 1871年（明治4年） です。これは、日本で近代的な郵便
制度が導入された年であり、前島密（まえじま ひそか）が中心となって整備されました。
今年（2025年）で 154年 になります。
　日本でも郵便物の減少傾向が見られます。2022年度の全国の郵便物引受数は約144億
通で、2001年度の262億通をピークに約45%減少しています。減っていると言いながら
も「ポストノルド」と比較すれは10倍以上多いですね。
　しかし、日本郵便は引き続き郵便サービスを提供しており、現時点でデンマークの
ような郵便配達の全面的な終了は発表されていません。
　今年で154年、250年も経過したら、どんな世界になっているか？郵便事業もどう
なるのか分かりませんね。

Postnord, a government-owned postal company in Denmark and Sweden, has announced that it will end delivery of letters and other mail in Denmark on December 30, 2025.

The post office in Japan was established in 1871 (Meiji 4). This is the year that the modern postal system was introduced in Japan, and was established mainly by Maejima Hisoka.

This year (2025) marks the 154th year.

In Japan, there is also a downward trend in mail volume. The number of mail pieces accepted nationwide in 2022 is about 14.4 billion pieces, a decrease of about 45% from the peak of 26.2 billion pieces in 2001. Even though it is said to be decreasing, it is more than 10 times more than "Post Nord".

However, Japan Post continues to provide postal services, and at this time there has been no announcement of a complete end to mail delivery like Denmark.

What kind of world will it be in 154 years this year, and 250 years after that? We don't know what will happen to the postal business.
